Dreams is about the moment we wake up from a vivid dream and it begins to fade. We’re left with a vague memory of what happened and a stronger memory of how it made us feel. We usually hold on to at least one detail quite vividly, thus the mountains taking sharp form. The rest is lost to the dreamworld fading only to emotions that are never easy to articulate. This being a painting of a “good dream” you’ll find representations of things that make me happiest. My family is represented in the bottom left corner in the tiles. You’ll find yellow marks representing sunshine, iridescent marks representing my ever present spirit guides. In the background large marks represent my first two children and, in the foreground, my youngest, who is obsessed with all things pink and shiny. The clumps of paint from my palette, as well as collage pieces from other paintings I’ve done represent my love of creating.
The underlying story here is about my family, my kids, my ever evolving self, and my future husband - my actual dream come true. This is the story of happy and whole.
